Abstract
In einer Studie des BMBF untersucht ein Bieterkonsortium aus JOANNEUM RESEARCH, dem Zentrum für Soziale Innovation (ZSI) sowie dem Deutschen Zentrum für Hochschul- und Wissenschaftsforschung (DZHW) die Beteiligung deutscher Forscherinnen und Forscher an den EU-Rahmenprogrammen und aktuelle Trends der europäischen Forschungs- und Innovationsförderung. Dazu wurden sowohl Daten der ECORDA-Datenbank der Europäischen Kommission ausgewertet als auch Onlinebefragungen mit Teilnehmerinnen und Teilnehmern aus Horizont 2020 und Horizont Europa und leitfadengestützte Interviews durchgeführt.

Abstract
Die EUROSTUDENT 8 – Synopsis of Indicators ist die zentrale Veröffentlichung der achten Runde des EUROSTUDENT-Projekts und das Ergebnis der Zusammenarbeit eines europaweiten Netzwerks, das Forscher, Vertreter nationaler Ministerien und andere Interessenvertreter umfasst. Ihr liegen Daten aus Studierendenbefragungen, die in 25 Ländern des EHR durchgeführt wurden, zugrunde. Die Synopsis of Indicators liefert Informationen über den sozioökonomischen und studienbezogenen Hintergrund der Studierenden, ihre Studienbedingungen und -erfahrungen, einschließlich internationaler Mobilität, und ihre Lebensbedingungen. Sie soll politische Debatten zum Thema der sozialen Dimension anregen und den Grundstein für weitere Forschung legen.

Germany is one of the most important host countries for internationally mobile students and academics. In comparison to students and academic personnel, however, international professors are underrepresented. The research project “International Academics at German Universities: From Postdoc to Professorship” explores the hurdles faced by international academics in making the transition from postdoc to professorship at German universities.
