Summer Schools

DZHW is involved in two Summer Schools in the field of higher education research and science studies. Both summer schools take place annually at different locations in Germany or Europe.

Summer School in Higher Education Research and Science Studies (HERSS)

The HERSS summer school of 2019 will take place from 14th to 18th October at the Technical University of Munich (TUM) under the headline "Responsible Innovation Cultures". Please find more information on the HERSS website.

The interdisciplinary Summer School in Higher Education Research and Science Studies (HERSS) is jointly organised by a consortium of higher education research and science studies institutions in Germany and has been taking place since 2015. The summer schools office is located at the German Centre for Higher Education Research and Science Studies (DZHW) in Hannover.

The focus topic of the summer school will change annually since each year one member of the consortium of organisers is hosting the event and consequently, it will take place at different locations in Germany. The school is generously funded by the German Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF).

Participants will have the opportunity to present their research and take part in additional activities such as workshops or evening lessons. Presenting participants may obtain 5 ECTS credits.

Each year renowned international experts are invited to give key note speeches and comment on the participants' presentations and research projects. Furthermore high ranking representatives of the consortium of organisers will take part and give advice for young researchers.
