Abstract
Der Beitrag untersucht die Heterogenität von Studierenden mit Blick auf soziodemografische Merkmale, Bildungsherkunft, Wege zur Hochschule und das Zeitbudget für das Studium. Dafür werden neben hochschulstatistischen Daten vor allem Befunde aus der "Studierendenbefragung in Deutschland 2021" genutzt. Die Ergebnisse verdeutlichen, dass Studierende mit einem breiten Altersspektrum eingeschrieben sind, dass ein Viertel von ihnen bereits eine Berufsausbildung abgeschlossen hat und zwei Drittel studienbegleitend erwerbstätig sind. Berücksichtigt man die Bildungsbiografie, das Alter, das Zeitbudget und die Übernahme von Betreuungs- und Pflegeaufgaben, so zeigt sich: Nur noch 44 Prozent der Studierenden entsprechen dem traditionellen Normaltyp.

Abstract
Die Hochschulen waren von Beginn der bundesdeutschen Geschichte an Austragungsort politischer Konflikte. Ihre große Stärke liegt darin, ein Forum für die Versachlichung, wissenschaftliche Vertiefung und Reflexion dieser Konflikte zu bieten. Die Konflikte in den letzten Jahren haben jedoch plastisch gemacht, dass dieses Ideal eines wissenschaftlichen Forums kein Selbstläufer ist, sondern Steuerungsleistungen aller Organe der Hochschulen bedarf und häufig auch Präsidien und Rektorate in die Pflicht nimmt, Auseinandersetzungen zu begleiten, zu gestalten und ultima ratio auch Grenzen zu setzen.

Abstract
Preparation for university studies is key to enabling adult refugees and asylum seekers to reestablish their educational and professional careers in the host country. While refugees’ transition to higher education (HE) is embedded in multiple transitions regarding social position, educational career, and migration, related identities may compete. We investigate how this is manifested in stigma consciousness and precarious student self-identification and how these factors influence the transition to HE.
