Das BVerfG erklärt die Regelung des Berliner Hochschulgesetzes, die die verpflichtende Entfristung von Postdoktorand*innen vorsah, für formell verfassungswidrig. Die von der HU Berlin bemühte Verfassungsbeschwerde war erfolgreich. Das landespolitische Projekt einer Transformation wissenschaftlicher Qualifikationsstellen hin zu einem flächendeckenden Angebot entfristeter Stellen für Postdocs war bereits politisch tot, nun hat das BVerfG die Regelung verfassungsrechtlich beerdigt. Die Entscheidung hinterlässt den schalen Nachgeschmack, dass damit einem „Weiter-so“ der Qualifikations-Befristung von Postdoktorand*innen der Weg bereitet wurde.

In this study, we investigated whether citation context information is able to increase the validity of citation impact analyses to measure research quality compared to simple citation counts. We analyzed the statistical relationships of information extracted from structured citation context data in the Web of Science (Clarivate) such as the placement of citations within specific sections of an article with post-publication peer review quality ratings from Faculty Opinions (H1 connect), used as an external validity criterion for research quality. Als die Juristische Fakultät der Leibniz Universität Hannover 1973/1974 gegründet wurde, steckte das Internet noch in seinen Kinderschuhen. Die digitale Revolution begann langsam Fahrt aufzunehmen und erste Lehrstühle für Rechtsinformatik nahmen ihre Arbeit auf. 50 Jahre später ist die Digitalisierung in der Breite der Hochschulen angekommen: Lehren und Studieren findet vernetzt über und unterstützt durch digitale Endgeräte und die Möglichkeiten des Internets statt; eine neuerliche digitale Revolution durch die disruptiven Technologien künstlicher Intelligenz kündigt sich an. Der Artikel versichert sich des Status quo der Digitalisierung der juristischen Ausbildung und zeigt künftige Entwicklungspotentiale auf.

Ageism in universities—meaning unequal treatment based on (older) age—is rarely addressed in higher education research. Yet with increasingly age-diverse student populations, older students may face discrimination for defying chrononormative expectations. Using data from the 2021 German Student Survey (N = 4,811; 300 students aged 30+), this research note identifies six forms of ageism. Logistic regression shows older students more often feel excluded or disregarded, but less often report unwelcome sexual remarks. Findings point to the need for policy action and greater scholarly attention to ageism in higher education.
