Dr. Tasso Brandt studied sociology (majoring in applied social research) at the Freie Universität Berlin and the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia. He received a Ph.D. in Sociology at the Saarland University in 2008. In 2015, he joined the DZHW as a researcher in the research area Educational Careers and Employment. Previously, he worked on various projects in the fields of social research and policy analysis: From 2003 to 2007 at the Center for Evaluation at Saarland University, from 2008 to 2012 at the Fraunhofer Institute for Systems and Innovation Research (ISI) in Karlsruhe and from 2012 to 2014 at the IfS Institut für Stadtforschung und Strukturpolitik in Berlin. His current research focuses on education and inequality, study financing and educational monitoring.
