Max Leckert studied social sciences (B.A.) at the University of Rostock and completed his studies in sociology with a specialization in empirical social research (M.A.) at the University of Tübingen. During his studies he worked in the research project “Aspekte der Armut in MV” and in the Collaborative Research Centre 923 "Threatened Order - Societies under Stress". He has been a research associate at the Department of Social Sciences at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin since 2018. As a member of the research group “Reflexive Metrics – Retroaction and practices of quantified orders of worth in science” he is writing his doctoral thesis on “Altmetrics as Participants in Practices of Quantification and (E-) Valuation”. He is a member of the Berlin Graduate School of Social Sciences (BGSS). Since 2019, he has been a research associate at the German Centre for Higher Education Research and Science Studies (DZHW) in research area 2: Research System & Science Dynamics. Here, his research focuses on digitalization and metrification of the sciences with regard to platform-based infrastructures.
