Dr. Göde Both studied computer science, philosophy, and gender studies at Humboldt-Universität Berlin, Freie Universität Berlin, and Technische Universität Berlin. From 2012 until 2013 he was a doctoral researcher at the Institute of media studies at Paderborn University. From 2013 until 2017 he held a position as a doctoral researcher at the Maria-Goeppert-Mayer-Professorship for "Gender, Technology, and Mobility" at Technische Universität Braunschweig. From August 2016 until November 2016 Dr. Both stayed at University of Copenhagen and IT University of Copenhagen as a guest researcher. From 2018 until 2020 he worked in the project "Gendering MINT digital" at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. During the same period, Dr. Both completed his dissertation, an ethnography on autonomous driving, masculinity & care work. In 2020, he was awarded a doctoral degree in social sciences by the University of Cologne. Since May 2022, Dr. Both is a consultant in the Office of the Commission for Research Information in Germany (KFiD) based at DZHW.

Keeping Autonomous Driving Alive. Both, G. (2020).Keeping Autonomous Driving Alive An Ethnography of Visions, Masculinity and Fragility. (Dissertation).: Budrich Academic Press. Abstract
In Keeping autonomous driving alive, Göde Both studies the relationships between researchers and artefacts held together by contested visions. Drawing on ethnographic fieldwork in a pioneering research project in Germany, he argues we can make sense of technological visions only if we simultaneously grasp the role of care, gender, and narrative in sustaining technological research. |

Research prizes shape careers in science and humanities. One prize often leads to another. Research organizations pride themselves with winners of prestigious prizes. Yet, it can be challenging for research organizations to keep track of their laureates. In our talk we will introduce you to our upcoming registry and metadata service for research awards and prizes which will tackle this challenge. The registry will provide PIDs and metadata for relevant research prizes and awards, such as, Shaw Prizes, Holberg prize, and Leibniz prize but also for academic honors, such as the appointment of honorary professors and the acquisition of a prestigious ERC grant. The planned metadata include information on subject, country of origin [...] |

Abstract
What’s it about? The climate crisis is here and is already exacerbating economic and social inequalities on a global scale. Sustainable concepts to counteract therefore reflect the most diverse scenarios and interactions and discuss the moment of responsibility of individuals and society also in science against the background of diverse value structures. Problem-solving that meets current challenges in a transdisciplinary and networked manner can be supported by Artificial Intelligence. These and further theses are to be discovered and discussed together with exciting guests at the event announced. |
