Abstract

The digitisation of teaching offers great opportunities to adapt higher education programmes to the different needs of students, as long as their inclusive design is ensured. In this regard, higher education institutions in Germany are currently facing numerous challenges to reconcile legal requirements, technical feasibility and the diverse requirements of the participants. A study from 2021 analysed web-based information portals for barrier-free digital teaching at selected US universities and describes how these portals are designed and where a transfer of exemplary solutions to the German higher education sector makes sense and is possible.

Abstract

This qualitative study addresses how mobile researchers shape and reshape their collaboraive practices through particular global and local, visible and invisible collaborative practices, thus altering the knowledge geographies in the Social Sciences and Humanities (SSH). The paper is based on the findings the doctoral research project that studies the meaning and practices of academic collaboration in German Clusters of Excellence belonging to the SSH.
