Antje Wegner studied Sociology, Psychology and Economics at the Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg and the Saint Petersburg State University. From 2009 to 2012 she carried out research in the field of risk research and regional sciences at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT). She completed her Ph.D. there in 2015. In parallel, she has been engaged in various projects at the Institute for Research Information and Quality Assurance (iFQ) between 2012 and 2015, including the evaluation of the ERC Starting Grant program (MERCI) as well as studies on Ph.D. training and research careers in Vietnam (EvaCap) and international researchers at German higher education institutions (MIND). She has led the Doctorate Candidates Panel and the research unit Self-Recruitment and Careers at the DZHW in 2015 before starting to work with DZHW since 2016.
