An adequate description of the relationship between higher education and occupation requires surveys that are linked both to academic studies and to the labour market. Occupational developments, processes of consolidation or family formation and associated requirements often take place years after graduation. Therefore several survey waves are needed.
The project is divided into three modules to be carried out between July 2017 and December 2020. Module 1 contains the first wave of the 2017 graduates. It is projected as a cooperation of DZHW, INCHER and ISTAT to realize the main results of the "buildAP-Project". Module 2 focuses on the repeated survey of the 2013 graduates five years after graduation, while module 3 includes the study after ten years.
With regard to content and method, the modules mentioned support the harmonization of the studies carried out by DZHW. As before, the studies also aim to work on scientific research questions about studying, and educational and occupational trajectories, so forming the basis for educational monitoring.
