Abstract

Ten years after many refugees immigrated to Germany in 2015, some have made their way into higher education. This was achieved with the help of support programmes from the federal and state governments. Two important factors for academic success are social and academic integration at the university. Refugees with foreign and domestic university entrance qualifications are at a significant disadvantage in this respect compared to other student groups.
