Dr Filiz Gülal is responsible for the Information and Communication Department at DZHW which is linked to the institute’s management. In addition, Dr Gülal is the press spokesperson of the research institute. Her responsibilities include managing and promoting all internal and external communication of the research institute. She is the institute’s expert for handling classical and modern media and is consequently responsible for all science communication of DZHW. Dr Gülal also advises the research project leaders in particular on the presentation of scientific activities/publications to the public and coordinates joint transfer activities with other institutions (e.g. with the Leibniz research network Bildungspotenziale LERN). Dr Gülal's main target groups are politics, researchers, the media, science journalists, and the general public.
Prior to her time at the DZHW, Dr Gülal earned a doctorate in economics (Dr.rer.pol) from the University of Paderborn. Her research focused on behavioural, personnel, and labour market economics. During her doctorate and studies, she spent research periods in England (Lancaster University - Management School) and Finland (Lappeenranta University of Technology - School of Business and Management). She took on management responsibility at the Schwarz business group in Neckarsulm in the area of quality management, where she also completed a successful traineeship. Dr Gülal additionally brings professional experience from the business areas of marketing, sales, and corporate communications.
