KonsortSWD (https://www.konsortswd.de/en) is a consortium that continues to expand offerings specific to research with data in the social, behavioral, educational and economic sciences as part of the National Research Data Infrastructure (https://www.nfdi.de). The DZHW is involved in the following activities:
Task Area 2: Data Access - TA.2-M.1: Supporting research data centres by establishing FAIR Principles and certification for sustainable and trustworthy data access
We will support the understanding and implementation of FAIR principles in the research data centres (RDC) of the German Data Forum (RatSWD) and coordinate the Economic and Social Sciences goINg FAIR Implementation Network (EcoSoc) (https://www.go-fair.org/implementation-networks/overview/ecosoc-in/). Thus, we will create documents and process descriptions in compliance with the FAIR principles and OAIS for crucial processes in data centres. Further, we will develop supporting measures for accreditation by the RatSWD and certification according to Core Trust Seal as a trustworthy data centre.

Task Area 2: Data Access - TA.2-M.3: Federating the archiving infrastructure of qualitative data
To promote access and re-use of qualitative data in research and academic teaching, this measure will establish a community-centered federated data network for qualitative data (VQualidat). This network will establish a coordinated approach to data curation, harmonize workflows and quality standards, and provide a common and centralized access and information portal for users covering all types of qualitative data (text, audio, video).
Because the basis for good data quality is good Research Data Management (RDM) standards of RDM will be developed in close cooperation with TA.3-M.2 (RDM in qualitative social research).
Researcher (DZHW): Dilek İkiz-Akıncı
Task Area 3: Data Production - TA.3-M.2: Generation of qualitative data – RDM portfolio for qualitative social research
This measure will develop common standards, guidelines, and tools to support all phases of data sharing. Furthermore is the aim of this measure to coordinate, harmonise, and link Research Data Management (RDM) services and procedures for data generation among the RDCs of the VQualidat network (TA.2-M.3) and to develop a common core portfolio of professional RDM tailored to qualitative data and research, which ensures high data quality and maximises the potential for data re-use.
