Leibniz Education Research Network (LERN)
Researchers from 28 institutions and various disciplines (including sociology, economics, political science and psychology) conduct research on the potential of education within the Leibniz Education Research Network (LERN) (LERN-Network - Leibniz Education Research Network (LERN)). The goal of the network is to pool expertise and develop interdisciplinary solutions to the challenges in education. Member institutions seek to find answers to the open questions on education posed by political decision-makers, education administrators and the general public. The DZHW is an active member of LERN.
The network initiates joint research projects, promotes international cooperation and creates structured spaces for scientific exchange, the promotion of young talent and knowledge transfer. Every year, LERN organises scientific conferences to strengthen scientific exchange and the Education Policy Forum as a central transfer format, among other things.
The College for Interdisciplinary Educational Research (CIDER) is part of LERN's efforts to promote young researchers. The college is an interdisciplinary network for postdocs in the field of educational research. CIDER fellows from the DZHW include:
- Dr. Nicolas Netz (2016-2019)
- Dr. Fabian Trennt (2024-2026)
