Uwe Ruß studied sociology and philosophy at the University of Göttingen as well as sociology and holocaust and genocide studies at Uppsala University. He finished his studies in 2012 with a thesis on income inequality, educational inequalities, and meritocratic beliefs conducted at the Berlin Social Science Center (WZB). From 2012 to 2016 he taught courses on empirical social research, sociological theory, and quantitative data analysis at Freie Universität Berlin. Uwe Ruß has been associate at the Potsdam-based social enterprise Social Science Works since October 2016 and research associate at the German Center for Higher Education Research and Science Studies (DZHW) in Hanover since March 2017. Currently he is completing his dissertation on welfare state attitudes and support for the political system in Europe.
