Jörg Neufeld studied Sociology and Psychology at the University Duisburg-Essen, specializing in statistics. After completing his studies he worked for three years as a freelancer in the field of market research. From March 2007 to December 2015 he was research fellow at the Institute for Research Information and Quality Assurance (iFQ) Berlin. During this time he worked on several evaluation projects with a focus on bibliometric studies (e.g. the evaluation of the DFG’s Emmy Noether Programme; an evaluation of the ERC’s Starting Grants Program). He also specialises in survey-based analysis and conducted large scale exercises such as the German Academic Survey and the Austrian Academic Survey. Jörg Neufeld joined the German Centre for Higher Education and Science Studies (DZHW) as a researcher in January 2016.
