Barbara Hendriks studied from 2006 – 2013 Social Sciences and Philosophy (BA) at Carl von Ossietzky University Oldenburg and Social Sciences (MA) at Humboldt-University Berlin. She addressed her master thesis towards the individual progress of external performance requirements in the field of biomedicine. After her studies she became a doctoral researcher at Humboldt-University Berlin. Her dissertation addresses the issue of „Translational Research in Biomedicine: Paradigm or Conceptual Phrase?”. Additionally to her work within the teaching field of science studies, Barbara Hendriks contributed to various projects at the German Centre for Higher Education Research and Science Studies (DZHW); including ProFile Promovierendenpanel (2013-2014) and the project “Core contens, organizational structures and evaluation procedures of translational medical research” (2014-2017) within the research system and science dynamics department. Since 2017, she is responsible for translational research at DZHW, department 2.
