Dr. Andreas Ortenburger has worked at the German Centre for Higher Education Research and Science Studies (DZHW) since December 2010. He is senior researcher in stage 7 of the NEPS (National Education Panel Study) where he is responsible for the conceptualization and development of questionnaires and research instruments and the additional study "Panel of Teacher Education Students" (LAP). He studied social sciences with a focus on applied empirical social research at the Ruhr Universität Bochum. After his studies he worked as a research and teaching assistant at the University of Wuppertal and at the Freie Universität Berlin, where he earned his Ph.D. with a thesis on teacher education and professionalization. At DZHW he has contributed to several empirical projects on study conditions, academic success, quality development and evaluation in higher education.
